Meera Giamalvo grew up in Boca Raton, FL and graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Biology. She is fluent in both English and her native language of Gujarati.
Mrs. Giamalvo’ then attended Palm Beach State College where she was top of her Dental Assisting Class before perusing her degree in Dental Hygiene. Graduating in the top five percent of her class, Mrs. Giamalvo earned her A.S. in Dental Hygiene, passing her boards on the first attempt, and earning the accreditation of RDH.
Throughout her time studying for Dental Hygiene, Meera participated in numerous charitable events including: The Swish Program for elementary schools, geriatric homes, the special needs centers, and the Special Olympics.
Her continuous passion to give back to the communities in which she works has made her one of the most compassionate hygienists and not surprisingly, keeps her services in demand year round. Her chair-side manner with patients is second to none and she is consistently receiving accolades from patients about the outstanding experience they received while at Island Dental.
Having donated so much of her time to charitable events, with most of the attendants of said events not having received dental care in decades, Mrs. Giamalvo understands all to well the fear and hesitation patients can have regarding their dental needs. Anyone with hesitation about dental care should take the opportunity to have an initial discussion/consultation with Mrs. Giamalvo regarding their current circumstances and how best both Mrs. Giamalvo and the Island Dental Team can alleviate those concerns.
While between work, continuing education, and charitable events, downtime is hard to come by; when free time does present itself, Mrs. Giamalvo enjoys working out, traveling, skiing and most importantly, family time.
